Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the free online json to properties.
Paste your JSON into the input box and press Convert to properties. The flattened key value
pairs appear in the output box.
Each level of nesting adds a dot, so a name inside an owner object becomes the key owner.name
on its own line.
Array items become indexed keys, so the first tag becomes tags.0 and the second one becomes
tags.1 in the output.
Backslashes, spaces, equals signs, colons, hashes and exclamation marks in keys are escaped
with a leading backslash.
Newlines, carriage returns and tabs inside a value are written as the two character escapes
backslash n, r and t.
A null value produces a key with nothing after the equals sign, and an empty object or array
does the same.
No. Dots are left as they are, because the properties reader uses them to rebuild the nested
object structure.
No. The flattening happens entirely in your browser and your JSON never leaves your device.
